Emmeline is Three! {Seattle Family Photography}

Emmeline’s birth was the second birth I ever photographed. Since then, I’ve seen her at three months, six months, nine months, one year, two years, two and a half years (for belly, birth, and newborn photographs with her little sister), and now again at three years. I LOVE watching this girl grow and change. What a great job, right? On January 31st (her actual birthday) we went to the Everett train station to get some images to celebrate. Emmeline needed some time to warm up (don’t we all?), but once I started telling her NOT to smile, she pretty much had a perma-grin.

Sweet little sister, Penelope, is now six months old and one of those babies you just want to squeeze. Penelope didn’t feel like participating in pictures unless she was in someone’s lap. We made it work. And while we did, I’m sure we were the amusement of every traveler in the station. Oh well. That’s what it takes to get images like these.

And congratulations to Angel and Eric for not only surviving, but thriving, through the last three years. I love watching your lives unfold.

PS. Yes, the winning commenters and image from the last post will be announced soon.
PPS. Why yes, that IS my new logo watermarking the above images. I LOVE it! My wonderful designer (and friend), Julia, has been working so hard for me and I adore the results. It gives me goosebumps to see the new logo with my images. Thank you, Julia!

I love absolutely everything about these photos. Angel and Eric have such a beautiful family!

Jessica, these are so wonderful! And we gave you such a set of obstacles to work with: late appointment, fading light, child who wouldn’t smile, then smiled like Johnny from The Shining….I opened these up and shouted, ‘hooray!’ You captured our family perfectly once again. The photos of me and Eric with each of the girls has to be my favorite. That is us to a T. In fact, I recall a similar photo of me holding Emmeline upside-down from her first birthday, and Eric is holding Penelope similarly on her birth day. Just another reason to have you take our pictures.

That photo of us on the stairs is also a perfect example of us as a family of four: all different directions. That makes it that much sweeter. Someday we’ll all be content and take turns and able to express ourselves, but now, it’s lovable chaos. Bless you for capturing it!

I would like to add that while I miss your tree, I love the layers of the new logo. It’s cool because:

1) It’s a lense
2) It’s the rings of a tree
3) It’s the ring left by a cup of chai after a long night of editing

It really fits you and your photography – good on ya!
