I’m going to do some oversharing from last Sunday’s session with Oren and Avery. They say to show what you love to shoot and this. is. it. It takes a certain kind of family to pull this kind of session off. We arrived at Discovery Park a couple of Sundays ago to find wind and rain. I got out of my car to tell Katie that I was so sorry she came all this way for nothing, but of course we wouldn’t be shooting in this wind and rain. I SO underestimated Katie and her boys. They were completely up for braving the weather and playing on the beach, even if it was for just twenty minutes. So we did!
We found that the north end of the beach was much calmer, and the rain even stopped for us. So we played and played and played. Avery found all kinds of sea glass and drew pictures in the sand and ran and ran. Oren discovered a stream that ended quite a ways up the beach from the tideline, stranding several little baby fish. The boys busied themselves carrying the fish out to the sound and trying to connect the stream with the waves. I loved it! This is what childhood is all about, and how great that we got images to preserve that morning.
