The portrait session is the perfect thing for getting those family, maternity, engagement images. The session fee covers up to four, but additional people may be added for a fee of $25 each. Yes, babies count as people.
This type of session is NOT available for families with babies under one month old. If that’s you, my Newborn Session will be the perfect thing.
A portrait session generally lasts around two hours. Sometimes it’s less (young children often wear out more quickly) and sometimes it’s more depending on what we’re doing. Basically I shoot until I’m satisfied that I have the images we want or until someone (usually a child) is DONE.
Around two weeks after your session, you will receive a link to your online gallery with around 30 hand-edited images for you to choose from. I offer three digital image collections. Prints, wall displays, albums, etc. are available for purchase after you have chosen a digital collection. It’s very important to me that you get beautiful results as you use your digital images, so I provide you with information on where to get quality printing. All images are in high resolution and will be suitable for all your photo needs.

Location
A portrait session can happen almost anywhere: your home, a park, downtown, etc. Generally we choose your session location together. I’ll ask you questions about the kinds of photographs you are hoping for. Urban? Natural? A combination? In your home? If you have a place in mind or that is special to you, please let me know. But if you don’t, I will make suggestions based on what I know about you. Family sessions most often use just one location. Engagements and maternity may be able to shoot in two. If you have scheduled an outdoor session and it seems that the weather will not cooperate, I prefer to reschedule for another day. Generally, once you have your heart set on outdoor photos, a backup location is just not going to be as exciting. Living and working in the Seattle area, this is bound to happen from time to time and I try to take it in stride.
To Schedule
I reserve your session date once I have received your full session fee and portrait agreement. Depending on the time of year, my calendar fills up between a month and three months in advance. Summer and fall are busiest, so if you’d like a session then, please get on my calendar early. Once you book your session, we will talk about time, wardrobe, what to bring, etc.
