First.

Wally put on a brave face for his Daddy as he left to go to his Grandma and Grandpa Peterson’s for his first overnight adventure ever. Fortunately, Abigail the veteran will be there to show him the ropes.

Escape.

When the mama of a family leaves on vacation, she is never truly gone. A part of her remains behind in the excited yell from her son, the funny story from her daughter, or the 2am wish for backup from her husband. The part that is leaving however, will love the sun, the pool, and...

Hem.

One of the many reasons I love my husband: he hems his own suit pants.

Scooter.

This afternoon the kids and I went to the park with Bonnie, Josie, and Louisa. Abby scootered herself there while Josie jetted on her balance bike. Once there Josie and Abby abandoned their modes of transport for a while and played airport. Wally took the opportunity to step on the scooter and take off. I...

Solo.

It’s not often that Trevor has an evening meeting and I’m left to put the kids to bed on my own. Tonight he was doing his part for the preschool, so I cleaned the kids up from dinner and got them to bed. Post-dinner, pre-bed, the kids were running around the ottoman, wrestling, and having...

Race.

Before bed, Abby and Wally opened Easter baskets from grandparents Peterson. Each received a wind-up toy. We had a race. I don’t think either made it across the finish line.

Dirndl.

Abby is going to see the play The Sound of Music tonight with grandparents Peterson. She was so excited that she got all dressed up in her dirndl first thing this morning. Then we walked around Edmonds, went to Starbucks and the library, and finally took the ferry over to Kingston, all with my little...

Reward.

After cleaning a disgusting bathroom, digging to the bottom of preschool work, and editing bunches of photos, I was ready for a treat. Thankfully, Starbucks sent me a free drink card in the mail.

Tap.

Chip(otle) and Wally apparently have a special relationship. Wally was at the door looking out at the chickens and Chip saw him and came running up onto the deck. They tapped the glass at each other for quite a while this afternoon.

Salad.

The kids were VERY excited about having salad with dinner tonight.

Tractor.

Trevor dropped the kids off at my parents’ house this morning because I had been up all night at a birth. I got some sleep and posted a blog, and then went over to join them. We played outside in the sunshine for quite a while. Wally and Abby LOVE riding this tractor that belonged...

Fence.

While I spent the afternoon at sessions, Trev and the kids mowed the lawn, rebuilt this section of the fence, and cleaned the house. Not a bad day!

Bag.

We spent the afternoon making a library book bag for Abby to take with her on our weekly visits. Wally’s is still in pieces.
