Drill.

I had a session this afternoon, so the kids stayed with Grandparents French. When I returned, we hung out for a while and Grandpa showed Abby some of her Great Great Grandfather’s woodworking tools. She got to practice making holes in wood with this hand drill. She really got a kick out of it.

Dirt.

Abby helped unload the dirt from the back of Trevor’s truck.

Nursery.

After a run/walk around Greenlake, we all went to Sky Nursery to get some thyme for the border of our garden. Abby danced and sang down the aisles and Wally ate his eight grain roll.

Piggy.

Today was filled with figurative and literal pigs. We pigged out at the market on falafel and kettle corn and mini donuts (that are made right in front of you!), and then we pigged out Josie’s pig-stravaganza birthday party. Of course I didn’t bring my camera to that because I was wrangling my two baby...

We’re back home and happy to be here. Wally got comfy with his socks off right away.

Concrete.

After deciding to stay another night at the hotel, the kids and I drove out to Concrete to have lunch with Trev. It was like a different world. The town is two blocks long and looks like a small-town movie set. We walked around after lunch and took some pictures. This bank has been there...

Splash.

After a few days on our own, Abby, Wally, and I were more than ready to journey up to Burlington to visit Trevor at his hotel. Aside from seeing daddy, the main allure? The swimming pool. Both kids are FISH!

Garden.

We had another busy day. Preschool park date in the morning, Sky Nursery after that, a quick stop at home to drop off plants and pick up lunch, then down to Seattle to visit Bonnie, Josie, and Louisa. After our playdate we stopped at PCC for dinner and came home to get to work. The...

Cartwheel.

After dinner at Las Brisas, the kids and I came home and went for a walk in the gorgeous evening light. I always let the kids get out of the stroller when we get back to our street and tonight Abby insisted on showing me how she can do cartwheels. It’s pretty funny, but I...

Dancing.

Just before Trevor left today (he’ll be gone all week) we had a little dance-on-the-rug session. It started with Abby and Wally, but that ended before I could get my camera. Abby liked dancing with her daddy, though. We are REALLY going to miss him.

Ferry.

Trevor, Wally, and I went back over to Kingston this evening to pick up Abby. Wally loved riding the ferry and spotting birds out of the window.

Kingston.

The kids and I took the ferry to Kingston this afternoon. Abby is spending the night there to watch a parade in the morning, so instead of just doing a quick handoff, I decided to make a day of it. We started at the library in Edmonds, hit Starbucks, and then walked to the ferry....

Dentist.

Abby was giddy as we drove to the dentist this morning. She was so excited to go to her appointment and get a new plastic ring with the token they give patients when they’re finished. Abby did a great job opening her mouth, closing her lips on the suction thing, and allowing her teeth to...

Pant-less.

We had a full day today. The beach with preschool, fun with Grandma French while I shot Madelyn’s newborn photos, shopping at PCC, and gardening with Trev. Wally did it all sans pants after soaking his in the tidepools this morning. I don’t think Wally minded.

Beach.

Bonnie, Josie, Louisa, Kelly, Naomi, Peter, Jess, Abby, and Wally. We all met at the beach and spent one of the best afternoons in recent history talking, eating, playing in the sand and water. We basked in the 60+ degree sun and soaked up vitamin D. This will be happening again. Soon.
