Mary.

Abby went to preschool as Mary Ingalls for Halloween. Thanks to Grandma Peterson for finding Abby this outfit. She wears it EVERY day.

Guts.

Abby removed the guts of her pumpkin by the fistful. Wally preferred to remove the seeds one by one. Neither kid relished the slimy job, and once finished Abby did not want to wait to wash her hands.

Tar.

Wally and Trevor enjoy some cuddle time on the couch after Abby goes to bed and while I work. Today Wally had one of his “tar”s and was driving it on Trevor. Apparently Trevor and I make great roads.

Feat.

Five kids, three hours, one me. We all survived. Abby and Wally each claimed baby Molly as their own. Abby by giving her hugs and showing her toys and Wally by reading her books and laying on her. I got this photo of Selena, Molly, and Abby right at the beginning of our time together....

Harold.

Today we had our Toddler class Halloween party. Wally went as Harold and the Purple Crayon. But if you asked him if he was Harold, he would tell you, “No. I’m Lally.” The parties at preschool are blessedly low key, but even so, Wally had a hard day. He hurt his thumb, got his favorite...

Crochet.

Trevor helps me prepare for my newborn sessions by crocheting custom hats for my clients. I love that guy. He crocheted, I knitted, and we watched Friday Night Lights.

Jump.

One of Wally’s favorite things to do is jump. He’ll jump from a curb, from the car, from one section of sidewalk to the next, off the couch, off the chair, off the steps from Grandma’s house, on the bed — Wally will jump anytime anywhere, whether you are paying attention or not (though he...

Quiet.

I should have known. I was getting TOO much done. The house was TOO quiet. It wasn’t until it was time to run to the post office that I went off in search of my kids. Abby was reading in her room, but where was Wally? No chatter, no banging. I went down the hall...

Deere.

Wally and I went with Abby on her class field trip to Carleton Farms today. Abby loved playing in the Kids Corral with her friends and choosing a pumpkin to take home. Wally’s favorite part was driving his tractor down a bumpy road…
