Teeth.

On Tuesday, we took Abby to the dentist and discovered that her two front teeth are loose! I had to get a picture of those sweet baby teeth to commemorate the news.

Puppets.

I caught Wally’s stomach bug last night and stayed in bed for most of the day today. When I finally made it out onto the couch, the kids (and Trev) put on a puppet show for me with paper bag puppets they had made (from a kit they received for Christmas) earlier that day. It...

Mellow.

Wally woke up in the middle of the night with vomit EVERYWHERE. We stripped the bed, stripped him, gave him a bath, remade his bed (this is why you need more than one set of sheets per bed! so we improvised.) and put him back to bed. It was a restless night and then today...

Stories.

Abby tells these elaborate stories that go on and on and on. Sometimes they involve other languages, sometimes I swear she’s quoting out of a book. Half the time I can’t follow her, but she seems to have it all straight in her mind. LOVE that mind.

Motorcycle.

My mom knew she’d be on thin ice (with me) for giving this to Wally, but I have to admit, it is awfully cute to see him driving his motorcycle over every surface he can. Let’s just limit it to this ONE, shall we?

Christmas.

We had a VERY mellow Christmas day. I was a little worried that last year’s playroom reveal would leave the kids a bit underwhelmed this year, but that was not the case. They were thrilled to have new twin beds (mattresses and bedding at least, the frames will come later). One of the highlights of...

Eve.

We hosted Christmas Eve with delivery pizza this year…and LOVED it. Lance, Jill, Gage, Chad, Lisa, Nick, Madelyn, Jane, Lora, and Wayne all joined us for some merriment. Madelyn was one of the first to arrive and she got smothered with love by Abby and Wally. After the festivities, the kids read The Night Before...

VW Express

Trevor and I have been looking forward to this day for a week now. You could say we’re more excited about The Volkswagen Express than about Christmas. After getting the kids ready for bed as usual they each found a ticket for the Volkswagen Express on their pillow. They went out to the car to...

Homecoming.

Abby and Wally came home from their overnight at the Petersons’ today. Abby played it cool, but Wally was obviously very excited to see me. I love that!

Present.

Before taking Abby and Wally over to the Poulsbo for an overnight with their grandparents, we wrapped the kids’ present to Trevor. They took great care as they carried it from my office and set it under the tree.

Belly.

I’ve been obsessed with Wally’s belly lately. He’s pushing it out in this shot, but it is definitely more rotund than ever. And SO kissable.

Chipotle.

Since we’ve probably averaged eating food from Chipotle once a week this year, it’s appropriate that we have a frame of the day here. Trev and the kids waited in the long line while I stayed in the car. Nice.

Laps.

With Trevor painting and me working, the kids have been a little cooped up today. So we threw them outside and told them to run laps around the house. It worked. (Note that Wally is wearing Abby’s running shoes.)

Frosting.

We had our annual mocha spice cookie frosting party with my parents today. Wally participated for his first time. Dad said he was amazed at Wally’s attention span. Wally liked to put a dab of frosting in the middle of his cookies and then add one to two red hots to finish it off. We...
