Story time.

Abby and Wally got to spend some bonus time with Grandma and Grandpa today while I went to a session. When I came to get them, they were happily reading in Grandpa’s chair. They couldn’t have cared less that I had returned.

Nest.

Wally napped, I worked, and Abby built herself a nest in my office. I guess I need to get organized!

Trevor and I watched Dirty Dancing the other night. Today he and Abby mastered “The Lift”.

Snooze.

Often times, when Wally falls asleep in the car, we can transfer him to the couch for a decent nap. Today he fell asleep on the way home from gymnastics, so Trev laid him down and then made cookies with Abby. I can’t resist a shot of my boy sleeping, so there you go.

Huckleberries.

At the park this afternoon, Abby and Josie decided to make fairy nests out of wood chips, leaves, and these little red berries. Abby was convinced they were huckleberries and edible until I intervened. I have no idea what real huckleberries look like, but apparently I need to become an expert. Fast.

Beach.

The kids and I went to the beach this afternoon. The sun was shining, the air was soft, the sand was waiting. After making a castle and cakes and Napoleon Creme Bars (all out of sand), we left with our souls refreshed. It was a perfect afternoon.

Fire station.

Abby’s Pre-K class toured the Kenmore Library and the Kenmore Fire Station today. Half again.

Baby Shark.

I learned today that I can get Wally to cooperate with just about anything if I refer to him as my Baby Shark. Don’t ask me why.

Faker.

Trevor and I snuck into Abby’s room a little before midnight to capture a shot of her sleeping in her new bed. I wasn’t too worried about her waking up because she goes back to sleep easily, which was good, since she woke up as I turned the handle of her door. We explained what...

Goodbye.

Our baby is no longer with us. We are very sad, but we want to honor all the joy that baby brought to this family in the short time we had together.

Aftermath.

My least favorite part of a snow day is the amount of clothes needed to play outside. It can take 15 minutes to get them bundled up (especially with Wally’s particularity about how his socks and gloves feel). Stripping them down afterward goes pretty quickly, but what a mess!

Snow.

Last year, Wally did not like to have any snow touching him. This year he was sitting in it and making snowballs.
