Kisses.

Before he goes to bed, Wally comes into my office to give me kisses. He kisses each cheek, my nose, my chin, my forehead, the top of my head, my eyebrows, my eyes, and finally my mouth. I love our ritual. Sometimes, even with all those kisses, Trevor isn’t finished reading to Abby yet, so...

Mustache.

The Groesbecks came over this morning for a pre-preschool playdate. I decided to try out a concoction a friend had recently told me about: coconut milk, blueberries, and honey. It’s supposed to whip up and become sorbet-like. Ours did not. The kids didn’t care, though. Especially Wally, who drank his and Naomi’s. Abby had an...

iPhone hope.

Wally and I spent some time at U Village (again) while Abby was in preschool today. It was COLD but sunny and beautiful.

Hope.

It snowed today. There’s a row of trees down in Edmonds that are among the first to bloom in the area. I went down there on my way to dinner with friends to take a picture and to remind myself that spring IS coming.

Cousins.

Cousin Jayden and Uncle Dan came over to play this afternoon! We were all ecstatic to have them over. Jayden and Abby look SO much alike; I couldn’t help staring. All three French grandkids held a concert in the playroom. It was quite the ruckus. We’re hoping to have more get togethers like this in...

Grump.

All I could get this evening. It was a full day, with TWO playdates and a total of seven friends, so I understand the feeling.

Butter.

This is the second time Wally has helped himself to some butter as a snack. Yuck!

Prevention.

Wally’s morning escapades have been CRAZY lately. When Trevor and I go to bed at night we duct tape the fridge shut, lock my office, clean off the counters, jam the closet doors, and STILL Wally finds things to get into. This morning when I heard Wally get up (at 7) I decided it would...

Exersaucer.

We lent our exersaucer to a friend a year ago. She returned it today, much to my chagrin. Where are we going to store this? For the time being it is in the playroom and Wally is loving it — except when we wants out. He hasn’t figured that out yet.

Ee ah.

Abby has been practicing ee ahs, which I think is supposed to be like hee haw, the noise a donkey would make. She can actually get her legs up really high now. Wally will occasionally do ee ahs with her by putting his hands on the ground and lifting one leg up.

Bike.

While I was at a session this afternoon, my parents stopped by our house and gave Abby a BIKE. How is my little girl old enough to have a bike? She hasn’t been too keen on balance bikes, but she sure is excited about the real thing. She and Trevor showed me her skills in...

Hot dogs.

Abby has been begging to have hot dogs and sweet potato fries lately, so we gave in tonight. I love that her idea of a hot dog is a chicken and apple sausage. She probably wouldn’t even recognize the real thing.

Baby.

Wally fell asleep on me while we were reading books this afternoon. I soaked up his warmth and enjoyed every minute of that nap. It reminded me of when he was a baby and wouldn’t nap anywhere but in my arms. I get a lot more done these days, but I miss my baby Wally.

Chilled.

We met a friend and her 8 month old baby at the beach today. It was windy and cold, and for the first time (ever?) Abby asked to go home after about an hour. She got to try out her new boots in the water, though!

Strong.

Strong Abby carrie Wally from the car to the house. A pretty remarkable feat since she only weighs about four pounds more than him.
